Keyword Research For Automotive Aftermarket Parts
Before you edit the first page on your website you need to spend time on Keyword Research to discover how your customers are looking for your products.
Although they are called keywords, I'm going to refer to them as keyword phrases. A keyword phrase is simply the string of words that a potential customer would type into the search bar to find what they want.
There are different types of search goals and they have a different type of search depending on what stage a consumer is in their buying process.
Example - A person searching the word "Bumpers" is going to get more broad results that may or may not bring them to the bumper that would work for their vehicle.
So let's think about this for a second before we change our page title to "Bumpers". We can see from the research (I will show you how to get there), that the search phrases are varied and will tell you a little about the mind set of the person searching.
If we take the following searches for Bumpers and we are deciding what we would like to show up for on the front search page, we might not want to just go with "Bumpers".
Some of these are good searches. But is the person searching Jeep Cherokee Bumpers looking for both front and rear? If you work to rank for this term will it result in visits from people that really wanted to buy what you brought them to on the page or should we look more at the search for Jeep XP Rear Bumper? It seems this person is getting pretty close to making the purchase or at least wants to only see the part they want, they don't seem to be just browsing.

By using keyword research you can either fish with a net or fish with the right bait to catch the targeted fish you're looking for. This choice is going to be yours and yours alone.
